2018 FRANK BROWN INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL
NOVEMBER 8-18, 2018
The 2018 Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival featured more than 200 nationally acclaimed songwriters in venues along the Florida / Alabama Gulf Coast from November 8-18, 2018. The festival is an opportunity for seasoned and aspiring songwriters and musicians from all over the world to have their songs heard, and for the public to learn the stories behind the lyrics that only the song’s author can express. During this exciting 11 day festival, performers will be hosted in over two dozen venues from Downtown Pensacola and Perdido Key, Florida, into Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Bon Secour and Silverhill, Alabama.
Here is a taste of the 2018 event
If you would like to see what went on at the FBISF, as seen through my eyes, check out this video from the 2018 event. Music performed by the songwriters who wrote the songs. To hear a song by the original songwriter gives you a different perspective than you would get from the recorded version because of the fact that the songwriter many times writes from their own personal experiences. They will usually tell the story of how and why the song was originally written. Always Interesting.
Songs by Sonny Throckmorton, Buddy Cannon, Rock Killough, Bobby Keel, Ed Beaver and Thom Bresh.
