When I make a recording for myself, I usually make it in the following fashion.
I'll sing and play pretty much the same way as I do today onstage. It is usually me, my guitar and a porchboard. But then I record a second guitar, playing basically the same thing as the other and split them a little left and a little right. Then I add a bass for the low end of the chords I'm playing. Sometimes I will even sing some vocal harmonies and maybe add an electric guitar for the color.
Of course a record company really wants nothing to do with that. But since I don't have a record company to worry about I decided to record an album of songs with that technique for everybody to hear. To me it is interesting to listen to and unique to what I do for myself. After all, it's my music and I can do as I please. ;-)
I give you these 13 cool songs with just me, my guitar and I.
